What You Should Know

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has been doing an outstanding job, when it comes to Education in the Western part of Africa. Which Nigeria happens to be one of the countries in West Africa. The 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has been announced and also added to this page. Which means that you can check for 2023 and also check other years. In other to successfully check these results, there are “How to Check” instructions which has been added here. So each candidate should carefully read and follow these guidelines or instructions.

Candidates that wants to check previous years, such as 2022, 2021 and others, the process remains the same. In addition, tools at your disposal are the result checker pin and the serial number found on the smart identity card used during the exams.

How to Check WAEC Result Online

  1. Visit the WAEC Portal: Head over to WAEC Direct for direct access.

2. Enter your Examination Number: This typically merges your 7-digit centre number with a 3-digit candidate number, e.g., 4123456789. Those who took exams before 1999 should use their 8-digit WAEC Examination Number, resembling the format 19865001..

Enter your e-PIN details: Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Click “Submit”: Voila! Your result is right in front of you.

If your original result checker PIN is misplaced or has surpassed its usage limit, fear not. Here’s the procedure to procure a new one:

  1. Access the Portal: Venture to the WAEC Request Management System portal.
  2. Complete the Necessary Details: Include your Name, Phone Number, and Email Address.
  3. Conclude with Payment: Progress to the online payment segment. The cost is N3,654.82, granting you access to your essential PIN.

Checking WAEC Results Via SMS

For those who appreciate the simplicity of SMS:

  1. Craft an SMS: Formulate it as WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear and dispatch it to 32327 (This service is exclusive to MTN, Airtel & Glo subscribers).
  2. Adhere to the Format: An example being – WAEC4250101001123456789012*2023. Note, the SMS incurs a N30 charge.
  3. Await Your Results: They’ll be swiftly transmitted to your mobile device.

How to Resolve Issues

If you encounter any issue or challenge while checking your WAEC results, either online or through SMS. Just have in mind that there is an email that you can forward your issues to, for immediate assistance or response. Simply send an email to [email protected] providing:

Year of examination.

The examination body has also announced that the printing of physical (hard copy) certificates will commence in the next 90 days.
